Seattle is one of the most dog friendly cities in the US… with dogs outnumbering kids! So of course, you will be able to find plenty of dog friendly holiday events near Seattle that you can attend with your furry friend.

Renegade Winter Craft Fair- Dec 10th-11th, 2022
Magnuson Park Hangar 30, 6310 NE 74th St, Seattle, WA
Find locally crafted creative gifts for the people on your list at the Renegade Winter Craft Fair. Enjoy poking around the vendor booths, and sample a tasty treat from one of the food trucks with your dog. Leashed pups are more than welcome in the venue. You won’t just be helping small businesses, 10% of the ticket proceeds go to the Nature Conservancy to help protect our planet! Ticket prices are suggested at $0-$12, so pay what you can.
Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run- Dec 11th, 2022
Green Lake Aqua Theatre, West Green Lake Way N, Seattle, WA
Get a jump start on your fitness resolution for the new year with this event! Put on your best holiday running gear, and sign-up for a 5k run or a one-mile walk with your dog. Participating in this event will get your heart pumping and help you support a worthy cause. Proceeds of the Jingle Bell Run go to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. If that’s not enough to get you interested, registration includes a t-shirt and jingle bells! So festive!
Magnusson Holiday Fun Run- Dec 17th, 2022

Athletes and outdoorsy types don’t have to let the gloomy winter weather keep them indoors. There’s more than one holiday fun run, and this one has a hot chocolate bar at the end! Register before race day, or register on the day of the event. You can choose to complete a 5k, 10k, or 15k. Show off to your friends with one of the finisher’s medals you will earn from getting out there and doing the darn thing! Don’t forget to have some water ready for your dog to drink while you’re enjoying your hot chocolate.
Arboretum Winter Solstice Walk- Dec 17th-18th, 2022

Soak in the peace of the Winter Solstice with a luminary walk through the forest. Not only will you be able to drink in the peace of nature and the winter season as you stroll with your dog, but you will also have a chance to craft some holiday swag to take home with you. Attend on Dec 17th and you can enjoy an adult beverage since this day is reserved for those 21 and over. You won’t have to worry about the weather ruining your plans, the event is scheduled to occur, rain or shine.
2022 Dog Friendly Holiday Events Just Outside of Seattle
West Seattle Festival of Lights- Dec 3rd, 2022
West Seattle Junction California Ave and SW Alaska St, Seattle, WA
Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Seattle proper, don’t miss out on the holiday fantasy that is the West Seattle Festival of Lights. The night will be filled with live music, hot mulled wine, and an amazing light show. You can keep an eye open for the roaming Santa, and even do some holiday shopping at the night market. Plan a costume of lights for your dog, and enter the contest, and you could even win a prize in the Best Pet category. Feeling competitive? Get a few friends and their dogs and create a theme to win Best Group! This is definitely a busier event, so if you have a timid dog, we suggest checking out some lower key holiday events this year.
Santa Paws at Waterfront Market at Ruston – Dec 3rd, 2022

Looking to head south? Visit Santa Paws in the adorable little waterfront neighborhood of Ruston. Yes, we all have our opinions of Tacoma. But Ruston and the Waterfront Market are simply adorable! Come get your dog’s photo taken, and get two digital prints for just $40! Plus, all proceeds from the event go to Three Little Pitties All Breed Rescue, a rescue that saves animals from the overcrowded streets and shelters of Texas and brings them to their forever homes in the Pacific Northwest.
Santa Pet Photos- Dec 10th, 2022
5 Rights Brewery Pavilion, 1514 3rd St, Marysville, WA
It may not be in the city center, but why miss the chance to get your pet’s picture taken with Santa? This event is a ‘thank you’ to the community for supporting this fairly new, but award-winning brewery. They would appreciate it if participants bring some pet food, or a small cash donation, as they will be donating all goods to their local animal shelter. 5 Rights Brewery is dog friendly year-round, so don’t be shy! Stop in any time to enjoy a delicious craft beer.
Argosy Christmas Ship Viewing- Multiple Dates in November and December
Various waterfront parks, check the schedule for the one nearest you!
The Argosy Christmas Ship Parade is an annual tradition. Take your dog to the waterfront, and watch as the ships, covered in lights and carolers, sail through Puget Sound. The ships will make stops at pre-arranged locations, which you can find by clicking the link to the website. Some parks will have bonfires to encourage community gatherings. Bring a warm drink and a heavy coat, and enjoy being part of this magical tradition.
