Brea Cara, CCS (Certificate of Canine Studies) is the founder and owner of Cosmic Home & Pet, providing certified dog training, dog walking, and pet sitting to families in Capitol Hill, Madison Park, Madrona, and the greater Seattle area since 1998.
She earned her certification through the Northwest School of Canine Studies, the only state certified canine studies program on the West Coast, and has been committed to ongoing education in animal behavior and training ever since.

When Brea founded Cosmic Home & Pet she made a promise to herself and her clients to be different. She knew that bringing a certified dog trainer’s perspective into everyday pet care would set her apart, and over 20 years later that belief still drives everything she does.
In today’s world you can hire an on-demand walker or sitter through an app. Those services have their place, but they are not what Cosmic Home & Pet is about. This business is small by design. Brea takes on a limited number of clients at a time to make sure every pet gets the individual attention they deserve.
There are no strangers cycling through your door, no impersonal booking systems, and no one-size-fits-all approach to care. Just Brea, your pet, and a genuine commitment to doing things right.
Brea’s goal is to become an extension of your family, offering personalized care and always making adjustments as your life changes. Whether your dog needs in-home training, a structured group walk, or you are simply heading out of town and need someone you can truly trust with your pet and your home, Brea brings the same care, consistency, and expertise to every single client she works with.
Brea’s Approach to Training
Brea knows that dog parenthood can be incredibly rewarding and incredibly stressful. A dog’s quirks can be challenging, frustrating, or even unsafe, and navigating their training can bring up a lot of emotions for their humans too.
That is why Brea considers herself a relational trainer. She works with your dog on their training needs, but just as importantly she collaborates with you to find out what is working, what is not, and how you are feeling throughout the process.
Brea’s training toolbox is grounded in science and animal learning theory, with a client centered approach that meets you and your dog exactly where you are. She has worked with a wide range of breeds and personality types since earning her certification in 2009 and remains committed to ongoing learning through weekly research, case consults, and quarterly workshops.
The mission of Cosmic Home & Pet is to be the heart of pet care by facilitating stronger relationships between pets and their humans through a commitment to behavioral training and the psychology of the human-animal bond. Every service Brea offers, from private dog training and small group dog walks to in-home pet sitting, is shaped by that mission.

We have been using Cosmic since our dog was 2 months old which was 2 years ago. They are by far the best and we’ve used a few of their services – walking, boarding and training. Having two elderly, opinionated, adorably annoying rescues that have lived in many urban settings with me, I can say easily that I’ve had my fair share of dog walkers and sitters over the years. Jaime, Brea and their crew are a breath of fresh air. Knowing their visits will be thorough and timely is a given but Jaime ALWAYS knows my schedule (even better than me at times), sends photos, has learned their quirks and more subtle language, is very communicative, keeps them safe, let’s me know if she sees even the smallest change in their mood or physical condition. Love is earned with old dogs and EVERY photo Jaime sends me shows my ‘heart on eight legs’ looking at her through her lens with utter love and affection. We are blessed to not only have our dog walker visit every day for all the contracted time-but also my furry misters get a friend to visit them without fail.
