About

Who Is Cosmic Home & Pet?

When I started Cosmic Home & Pet in 1998, I vowed to be different. I knew that, as a Certified Dog Trainer, I brought a unique perspective into pet care.

In today’s world, you can hire an on-demand walker or sitter, and you can even sign up for virtual dog training. These services have their place, but they’re not what Cosmic Home & Pet is all about.

This small business is just that. It’s small. I take on just a few clients at a time to ensure that every pet is getting 1-on-1 attention. My goal is to create long-term relationships with both the humans and pets that I work with.

With my customized services, I aim to become an extension of your family, offering personalized care, and always making the necessary adjustments when your life inevitably changes.

Brea Cara:
Owner &

Seattle Dog Trainer

Brea Cara dog trainer Cosmic Home and Pet Seattle

I’m Brea, the founder of Cosmic Home & Pet. I am a Certified Dog Trainer, I facilitate small group dog walks, and offer pet sitting in the Seattle area.

In 2009, I became a Certified Dog Trainer where I received a Certificate in Canine Studies (CCS) through the Northwest School of Canine Studies (NWSCS), the only state certified school on the West Coast. In addition, I studied for a year under a local dog behavior specialist. I continue to attend seminars and courses yearly to further my education and training modalities.

My training style is collaborative and holistic. I will work closely with you to develop a custom program that fits you and your pup’s needs. My goal is to offer training modalities that foster successful canine and human relationships.

The thing is… I know that dog parenthood can be incredibly rewarding… but also really, really stressful. Your dog’s quirks may be challenging, frustrating, or even, straight up, unsafe. Navigating their training can bring about a lot of emotions for you too!

That’s why I consider myself a relational trainer. Sure, I work with your dog on their training skills and needs. But, almost more importantly, I also collaborate with you to find out what’s working, what’s not, and how you’re feeling throughout the process.

Dog training is a journey. So it’s important that you know that you have a teammate by your side. That’s me! Consider me your Seattle dog training teammate!

I possess a well-rounded training toolbox full of techniques that will help you connect with and understand your dog’s behavior better. I employ methods based on science and animal learning theory. Simply put: I reward desired behaviors that will enrich your dog’s life and remove the “pay off” for unwanted behaviors.

No two dogs are the same. And no two situations are the same either.

With over 20 years of experience in training in animal behavior and psychology, I provide customized, in-home dog training that helps you reach your specific goals.

The mission of Cosmic Home & Pet is to be the heart of pet care by facilitating stronger relationships between pets and their humans through our commitment to behavioral training and the psychology of the human-animal bond.

If Only Pets Could Talk…Here’s What Their Parents Say:

We have been using Cosmic since our dog was 2 months old which was 2 years ago. They are by far the best and we’ve used a few of their services – walking, boarding and training. Our dog is better behaved and well taken care of in their hands. While we love our friends and neighbors, we prefer to board our dog with Cosmic. We also LOVE the group walks our fur baby goes on. She gets her exercise and makes so many pup friends!! How do I know? I check in on Cosmic’s Instagram, which they update all the time :).  Thank you guys for being the best!!

Having two elderly, opinionated, adorably annoying rescues that have lived in many urban settings with me, I can say easily that I’ve had my fair share of dog walkers and sitters over the years.  Jaime, Brea and their crew are a breath of fresh air. Knowing their visits will be thorough and timely is a given but Jaime ALWAYS knows my schedule (even better than me at times), sends photos, has learned their quirks and more subtle language, is very communicative, keeps them safe, let’s me know if she sees even the smallest change in their mood or physical condition. Love is earned with old dogs and EVERY photo Jaime sends me shows my ‘heart on eight legs’ looking at her through her lens with utter love and affection. We are blessed to not only have our dog walker visit every day for all the contracted time-but also my furry misters get a friend to visit them without fail.
