Dog Training for Seattle Pet Parents Who Want Calm, Real-Life Skills
You love your dog. They’re family.
And when things start to feel hard — pulling on walks, feeling unsure or overwhelmed about how to train, or wanting to set your new puppy up with good habits from the start — it can be frustrating, confusing, and honestly exhausting.
These challenges are common, especially for dogs living in busy Seattle neighborhoods.
And the good news is: you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
With the right guidance and a training approach that builds both your dog’s skills and your confidence, things can feel calmer, clearer, and more connected again.
If you’re looking for thoughtful, practical dog training rooted in trust and real-life support, you’re in the right place.

Meet Your New Trainer!
Hi there!
I’m Brea Cara —a certified dog trainer who graduated from the Northwest School of Canine Studies (NWSCS), the only state-certified school on the West Coast that offers a Certificate in Canine Studies.
I’ve been helping pet parents address behavioral issues and establish a strong foundation with their dogs since 2009.
I also support many clients through calm, small-group dog walks that reinforce training skills between sessions and are available to a limited number of non-training clients as well.
And I would love to help you too.

Dogs Are Unique Animals Who Require Personalized Solutions
Let Me Start Helping You and Your Dog NOW
It’s important to understand that every dog is an individual. They’re living, breathing, thinking creatures who are all living a unique experience and have different quirks and idiosyncrasies.
That’s why one-size-fits-all training programs, tutorials, group classes, and generic articles are rarely helpful.
Instead, you need a trainer who can learn about your relationship and help guide you toward a solution. I primarily help my clients achieve this goal through two different training packages.
I’m a relational trainer, who takes a collaborative, holistic approach to solving my clients’ needs. I emphasize communication during the training process and like to discuss the things pet parents have found helpful with their pups (as well as the things that haven’t been helpful), and then design a plan to address the problems and achieve a harmonious relationship.
That’s really the ultimate goal.

Walk and Train Dog Training- Level 2
Training success really boils down to one thing: building your dog’s confidence. That’s what the Walk and Train service is all about! You will learn to work through distractions and frustrations, in the moment, while gaining a better understanding of your dog’s energy and cues while on leash.
The Walk and Train service is for dogs who have worked through basic training. They just need help applying what they know to the outside world. Maybe they’re distracted or get overwhelmed when out and about.
Walk and Trains take your pup’s leash skills and social skills to the next level. We’ll work to fine tune your dog’s training so that you can tackle life in the real world!
